Living in Arizona means that there are going to be scorpions inside of your home. There is a pretty good chance that at some point there are going to be scorpions found inside of your home. The game changer comes in when you decided how to handle the scorpion you see inside of your home. Handling a baby scorpion correctly is one of the most vital things you can do in order to avoid having an entire house full of scorpions. How Did They Get Here?Mother scorpions have what we refer to as a brood of scorpions at one single time. A brood equals out to be about 100 scorpions. As mentioned, part of living in Arizona is dealing with scorpions. However, there is a big difference between dealing with one scorpion and finding a baby scorpion inside of your home. When baby scorpions are born, they quickly attach to their mother’s back. For the next two weeks, they go everywhere that their mother does. This is how you know that there is a problem. The only way for a tiny scorpion to get inside of your home is by catching a ride with their mother- and all 99 of their siblings. If you find one baby scorpion inside of your house you likely have many other little guys scattered throughout your home. Once their two weeks are up, they are capable of living on their own and they will leave their mother. This means that if the mother entered your home when the babies were ready to leave on their own, they likely set off inside of your home. How Dangerous are Baby Scorpions? Many people believe that baby scorpions are even more dangerous than adult scorpions. This belief comes from rattlesnakes. A baby rattlesnake is more dangerous than an adult because they can not control the amount of venom that they release into the body. However, unlike a rattlesnake a baby scorpion is not going to leave additional venom inside of your body. It is important to note that a sting from a baby is going to hurt and be just as damaging as their mothers, but not more hurtful.
If you see a baby inside of your home you need to call a pest control company quickly. You will need to schedule regular scorpion control treatments to make sure that you do not have a quickly growing scorpion problem inside of your home.
