Living in places like Arizona means that you are going to be living among scorpions. There really is no way to get around having to deal with scorpions in your yard. However, between great Arizona scorpion control and a smart landscaping design, you can avoid having an influx or large number of scorpions in your yard. We are here to help you understand how to landscape your yard in order to avoid scorpions.
Understanding Scorpions First of all, you need to understand where scorpions like to live. Most scorpions prefer to be hidden during the day, and come out to prey on other creatures in the evening. So, it would make sense that if you take away their nests and other hiding places it would be more difficult for them to survive in your yard. During the day, scorpions often find themselves hidden under different cool surfaces, where they can still see their prey. Seems like logs, rocks, and clutter or a great idea and place for scorpions to live. We understand that it can be difficult to try and Landscape without any rocks, or places for scorpions to hide. We are not suggesting that you take all of these things out of your yard, but we are suggesting that you try and use them sparingly. While logs and rocks do look cool in your yard, they are only going to attract scorpions. Instead of using logs to landscape your yard, consider using pots, and stone structures. You can make a really cool landscape area using cool pots that are very heavy. If the structure is very heavy, it is going to encourage the Scorpions to go somewhere else, because it is more difficult for them to burrow themselves underneath of it. Arizona is beautiful, but it does always look like a desert. Rather than Landscaping with the desert style, think about adding some bright features to your backyard. While rock is definitely going to be the easiest to take care of, there are other things that you can use as well. Consider planting some really pretty trees in your yard. A lot of trees are heat resistant, and can do really well in Arizona. You will want to check them frequently for bark scorpions, as they do like to rest on trees. Do your research before you determine which trees to purchase, as some may be better at discouraging scorpions than others. Be Observant Finally, one of the best things that you can do in your yard is to simply check in on the situation regularly. Avoiding your yard is not a good way to help handle the Scorpion situation. If you're constantly checking and learning what areas are attracting scorpions, you can remove them from your yard. Pay attention to where the Scorpions are living, and simply get rid of those features. Replacing these things with a nice Turfgrass, a big heavy pot of flowers, or big concrete structure it's something that's a good option if you have a scorpion problem.
